• Day 1 Welcome to Alentejo, a flat golden land where the most emblematic Portuguese wines are grown.

  Wine Tourism in Portugal invites you to discover the amazing Alentejo.  

  Pick-up at your Hotel in Lisbon, by Deluxe vehicle Mercedes E-lass with English speaking Chauffeur. 

    

  You will visit  L'and Vineyards Cellar. The culture of wine and vineyards is one of the essential features of the L'AND identity. This original project has elected the wine as the anchor of its inspiration and offers a unique rural experience that allows all owners to become wine producers with customized bottles, with the support of the team of the prestigious oenologist Paulo Laureano, that closely follows the growth of the grape and vine until harvest time. The L'AND cellar is equipped with all modern oenological technology requirements aimed to ensure high standard wine quality and is the place chosen for its production. You will have a beginner's wine tasting and Eno-gastronomic connections course. During the tour to the vineyards and cellar, you will hear an explanation about the peculiarities of the different grape varieties, soils, irrigation, harvest, and production processes. You will make practical exercises in the room to prepare your vision, smell and palate for the wine tasting experience. You will be introduced to the main rules that will enable you to make the Eno-gastronomic connections.

   

  Lunch will be served at L'and Vineyards Restaurant. Embark on a gastronomic journey that combines Mediterranean and Alentejo cuisine with oriental influences. Seeks to affirm the new Portuguese gastronomic culture, reflecting the history and culture of Portugal and integrating the experiences and ingredients that came from the discoveries in the East. The awarded cuisine creates menus inspired by the natural environment that surrounds the L'and Vineyards, presenting dishes with influences from Alentejo in a contemporary interpretation, taking visitors on a gastronomic journey. The restaurant offers a menu where the basic ideas are travels and the meeting of cultures and flavors, combining Mediterranean and Alentejo cuisine with contemporary and oriental influences.

   

  After lunch, discover Cartuxa Cellar. Located in the former refectory of the Jesuit retirement home, they taught at the University of Évora in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. With his expulsion in 1759, by order of the Marquis of Pombal, the property became part of the state, starting a few years later, in 1776, working as an important mill of wine absorbed the wine production in the region. Acquired in the nineteenth century by Eugénio de Almeida family, the Cartuxa Cellar has undergone several renovations and expansions over time, preserving the richness of its architectural and historical memory. The logo identifies wines such as Vinea, EA, Foral de Évora, Cartuxa, Scala Coeli and the legendary Pêra-Manca, as well as the olive oils Álamos, EA and Cartuxa Gourmet. You will enjoy a visit to the cellar and 5 wines tasting, selected by the customer, of the full range of Eugénio de Almeida Foundation (except Pera Manca Tinto) accompanied by sausage, cheese, jam region, and others delicacies. The experience also includes olive oil tasting.
